Edward Fredrick Unterseher

Edward Fredrick Unterseher, 78, of North Versailles (formerly of Duquesne), passed away peacefully at home on September 24 , 2020. He is the son of the late Edward and Ariona Wagner Unterseher. He is survived by his daughter Dawn (Paul) Kogut; son Edward (Gale) Unterseher; siblings Kathleen (Stanley) Kilsdonk, Ellis (Helen) Unterseher, and Norman (Janet) Unterseher; step-grandson Ricky (Krystal) Martinelli and great-grandson Nicholas.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Theresa, and brothers LeRoy and Dallas. Edward was born Dec. 27, 1941 in Hazen, North Dakota, raised in Fairview, Montana, and graduated from Fairview High School in 1960. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Great Sitkin, an ammunition carrier, from Jan. 1961 to Jan. 1965. He often recalled his service in the Mediterranean Sea region. Edward met the love of his life, Theresa Loveland, on a blind date while he was on leave. They married in 1967 and settled in Duquesne. Edward was a member of St. Joseph Church in Duquesne and worked for Westinghouse Air Brake Co. for more than 30 years. Edward loved visiting family, taking road trips around the country, fishing, and watching horse racing and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Friends receieved Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 on September 29, 2020 at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne. Funeral blessing will be held Wednesday 11am at the funeral home. Interment following St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.
