Obituary
Carolyn R. Opalko, 82, of West Mifflin, died Oct. 19, 2021. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Olga (Bodnar) Hunt. She is survived by her beloved husband Russell Opalko; son Bryan (Carrie Zdobinski) Opalko; daughter Susan Opalko-Sommers; her granddaughter, Charlee Rae Sommers, who was her entire world; sisters Marsha (Buck) Willis and Laura DiDomenico; also nieces and nephews. Early in life, Carolyn was a secretary and then managed her father’s tavern (Hunt’s Bar) in Duquesne. Carolyn’s main job was raising her kids and taking care of her family, and doting on her granddaughter every chance she got. Carolyn is a member of St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church. Friends received Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Sun. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A funeral liturgy will be held Mon. 10:00 am at St. Elias Byzantine Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter.
