Alexander "Al" Kalin, Sun., April 14, 2019. Beloved husband of Sandy Kalin (nee Scurle) for 53 years; dear brother of Elizabeth (the late Thomas) Denny; dear uncle of Jennifer (Dale) Conklin and Christopher (Jackie) Denny; dear great-uncle of Norah and Oscar; our dear cousin and friend to many. Al was a 1st Lt. Army in Korea during the Cuban missile crisis. He sang in many choirs, played golf as an excuse to get breakfast, taught confirmation classes for over 35 years, loved theater, opera and symphony. He supported the Art Museum, History Museum, Botanical Gardens, Science Center, St. Louis Zoo, Missouri Historical Society, Opera Theater St. Louis, Winter Opera, Metropolitan Opera and the St. Louis Symphony. Loved animals especially his 6 Wheatens and Kitty. He attended Mt. Airy Seminary in Pennsylvania. He loved to travel and made it to 49 out of 50 states. He was a longtime employee of Huntington Alloys part of International Nickel and retired from Special Metals. In lieu of flowers, donations to ELCA World Hunger, P.O.
